For lenders and funders

Food safety due-diligence audits for lenders and funders.

Banks, CDFIs, NGOs and investors funding food businesses commission an independent food safety audit — like a financial audit — before or during funding. You get a clear picture of the regulatory and food safety risk you are taking on, from a credentialed reviewer with no stake in the outcome.

What the audit covers

License and inspection history

Current licenses and permits, recent inspection reports, repeat violations, and any open orders or enforcement actions.

Food safety plan and records review

The HACCP or food safety plan, written procedures, and the logs and records that show the plan is actually followed.

Facility walk-through

An on-site review of the operation, equipment, storage, and practices against the code in force for that jurisdiction.

Findings report

Every finding cited to the requirement behind it, an overall risk rating, and the corrective actions needed, with priorities.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the dealThe business, its location, the funding stage, and your timeline.
  2. Independence checkWe confirm there is no conflict before we accept the engagement, then quote a fixed fee.
  3. Records and site reviewWe review the documents and inspection history, then walk the facility.
  4. Report to the funderYou receive the findings report with risk rating and corrective actions. Follow-up audits during funding are available.

Stetmark is a sister company of Safe Foods Support Inc. Both companies are owned by Rayon King.

Independence

Stetmark does not audit businesses that its sister company, Safe Foods Support, advises; if a funded business is an SFS client, we disclose it and decline or refer the audit.
